“Controversial” pieces get more clicks and engagement: comments for and against, shares (“look at this piece of crap writing”), etc. Kind of a formalized troll.

I feel this is a little unfair, he made a mistake, yes he thought it would succeed, then found it didn’t. He apologised, took the blame and is taking steps to rectify it. Is that really worthy of such vitriol?
If Elon is overrated, what does that make you? Or me?
AJ, this is a clickbait garbage article. You should be better. You should want better for yourself. Or, maybe this is just the bar Gizmodo is choosing to set for itself. Disappointing.
Damn that Elon Musk for wanting to hire more people and create more jobs. How dare he?!?!
Don’t worry about Buzzfeedmodo, there will be plenty of morons to consume their trash and buy via affiliate links. But if you’ve ever considered them as a way to stay informed, don’t.
What a load of crap. I’m seriously done with this site.
Yep, which is why whenever I browse gizmodo I make sure my adblock is enabled and if I ever happen to want to buy any of the useless shit they try to shill on everyone, I just look it up myself just to avoid their affiliate links.
To quote Kosh from B5 - “I shall miss this place when it is gone.”
That’s a great hot take from a useless echo chamber. While you guys are writing clickbait articles and trying to sell useless garbage for a bit of comission, Musk is actually taking huge risks and attempting to push our space tech and auto industry forward. Who’s overrated again?
This is probably the most opinionated piece of garbage I’ve ever read.
For those of you who want to actually see it, and not peer at it through what appears to be the worst air-pollution-filled day in Delhi.
