If I'm not mistaken, the current Vibrant can connect to HSPA, just not HSPA+.

@reuthermonkey: If you root, you can install voodoo which changes the filesystem to ext4, same as nexus s. I'm guessing this still uses RFS, as the kies (sp?) update to 2.2 (KA6) still uses RFS.
