Or blame the companies who have cut their full time employees and refused to raise wages for 40 years, so that people don’t need to piece together income like this.

Id pretty much walk everywhere...  It's mostly what I do now except when I'm lazy or late.  I guess I'd probably get the bicycle fixed and drink closer to home too.  I'm paying as much as I'm willing to for Lyft right now.  

That’s all that’s important - showing it exists. Doesn’t matter if other times it’s fair, doesn’t matter if the other drives make more and the sum total evens out. That’s for the companies to sort out how every fare can be fair. (since they’re paying contractors one by one, not aggregates of salaries.)
