Common misconception with RS4s. The B6/7 S4s had plastic chain guides, RS4s and R8s have aluminum ones and do not have the same problem. I also have a B7 RS4 with over 100k miles and its been dead reliable.

i find it hard to believe the 310hp 2.3 will chirp 4th, even with a close ratio gearbox. 3rd seems iffy unless it has Prius tires or a slick road.  Is this typical?

OK, a little more research would have made a better article. Poseidon is not in possession of said center core booster. And there’s the advantage of EV’s - they will naturally get cleaner as the ways we produce electricity get cleaner. If you buy a moderately cleaner version of a combustion engine, it doesn’t then get cleaner if a better version comes along - you need to buy a new car.

My 2001.5 B5 S4 is one that I will never get rid of. Yes, it’s a sedan, and yes, it’s silver. Don’t care ‘cause its also a Stage 3+ with about 500 horses available at the wheels.  Boost is soooooo addictive.

I think you meant to say 2002 S4 Avant, 6spd. 

lol I dont know, N/A audis just arent as exciting as their boosted siblings. At least not enough to cope with the repair costs. The B5 is a nightmare, but so freaking fun/fast for the troubles, imagine having all the torque at 2k rpm.

I feel like this is a flawed and mostly worthless report. Why? If I’m reading it correctly, their data points only come from cars that were sold. As cars climb higher in mileage, their value drops. As value drops, two things happen - they are less likely to be fixed when they break and so are scrapped instead of sold,…

That’s still about twice the top speed of average volvo drivers.
