"The Sexy, Thrice-Nominated Behind of Laura Linney" is hipster band-name of the week

I only saw Boardwalk Empire after it was finished, but I had already seen him in a couple of things, including Take Shelter, in which he's brilliant. And I loved his turn as General Zod: for me he was the definite highlight of Man of Steel

I saw this today in an Amy Adams double bill with Arrival, which we saw first. I found NA incredibly stylised, well-acted (especially Shannon), but incredibly uninteresting (except for the novel within a film bit and the nice cameo by Laura Linney) and weirdly on the nose about stuff. I loved Arrival, by the way

Shame isn’t a strong enough emotion to stop us doing anything at all

The A.V. Club

absolutely. definitely wildly overpraised. It should have ended with Kelly deciding not to go to San Junipero after she dies, leaving Yorkie alone in a simulation. Maybe Brooker felt he'd already done that to a certain extent in the Christmas episode. Either way, as much as I enjoyed the episode, I cannot understand

"It is by my tiny hands that you will rise from the ashes if this world!"

At least one hipster is crushed to death in Man of Steel, something which always puts a smile on my face

There was a brief moment in the series where it hinted that it was her creepy ex-boyfriend … not sure if that was ever followed up or if it was just an editing glitch

God, can you imagine if it's awful?

I'm trying to recall if it was also Jones that goes with Ronson to Spain to where the Bilderberg conference was taking place … was it him or another whackjob?

A sort of possessed, apoplectic croak

*in Oprah voice*

Jon Ronson's brilliant 'THEM' and the accompanying TV series 'Secret Rulers of the World' did a very good job profiling Jones. Ronson believed he's a bit of a clown and that much of his hyperbole is for the camera (as noted by a commenter below), yet he was still unnerved and bemused by Jones's hardcore nutjob

They say that she's a Celt

The FX truly are brilliant, but the story is only so-so; that said, this is the first Marvel film I've thoroughly enjoyed in years, and although it follows a traditional superhero origin narrative, it does so with great style and wit. Cast is great … Cumberbatch's flattened American accent is distracting. Score is

I saw the film last night and enjoyed it immensely; it's the first Marvel film I've thoroughly enjoyed in years. Cumberbatch has the combination or Sherlock arrogance and charming, funny zingers (I'm guessing at some point in the future they'll have him teamed up with Iron Man and they'll be hurling sarcastic comments

I see what you did there
