My wife and I spent a week in Puerto Rico last year and I’ve never been blinded by high beams as much as I was there. Beautiful island and horrible drivers.
I was really drawn to the GX, especially considering the V8 power, but ran across the weight figures of the rig and they’re absolutely absurd for something that size. They are MUCH heavier than a comparable 4runner. They’re heavier than my 2004 extended cab Silverado 4x4. That’s ridiculous.
I don’t know percentages, but a BUNCH of TRD Tacomas are 2wd. This isn’t that different. There’s advantages to a 2wd truck with ground clearance, especially if you’re out West and want to do more of a prerunner/baja style build. Throw a locker in this truck with a long arm kit and it would be excellent for high speed…
Same here. Growing up my dad had a ‘97 4cyl 4x4. My mom bought an ‘05 V6 when they came out and I remember my brother and her telling me how quick it was. After years with the ‘97 I thought that had to be a load. Well.. After driving it I drove to the nearest Toyota dealer to see if I could get the V6 in a stripped…
EXACTLY where my mind went. If this thing had a Cobra Coupe-esque profile bumper to bumper I’d flip out and hock a kidney for a down payment (in a few years after depreciation). I just hope that carries forward in the design and this isn’t some weird cabover deal.
I do think this car is a top notch example in relation to the year and mileage, and mileage is certainly not as relevant as the care taken throughout those miles. Considering it’s use, it’s about as clean as you’re going to find.
I have a fascination with #vanlife, full time RVing, overlanding, ect ect. and one common denominator I’ve noticed is how damn much money people ask for stuff like this. Considering how little it would cost to buy a clean Econoline and retrofit it with a few amenities, it makes me wonder if there’s any money ready to…
When I catch a Volvo dressed in the current design out in the wild, I spare a moment to take in and appreciate the restraint and simplicity. They’re seriously attractive and look excellent. There’s nothing tacked on at all. Every choice in the design makes sense and it’s pulled off in a way that’s not bland, but…
I like it, especially the John Player Special-esque black and gold. I also love long tube headers and it must sound awesome on that F20. It does need a collector and resonator though.
I find the collective knowledge to be the real value here. The writers bring up the topic and put it out there so I’ll usually browse through it real quick and then jump down to the comments for the hilarity as well as clarity when people chime in and discuss the details. Sometimes I just look at the headline and…
I seriously need to go update my profile because ever since I’ve returned to browsing Indeed on my breaks, my hits on LinkedIn are through the roof. People are scoping me out there after I apply on Indeed.
Is that Ty Brookhart’s 1st gen 4Runner? I recognize that back bumper.
Awesome! Cheap old trucks are the best trucks. I want something I can roll down a trail in and not worry about switches making pinstripes down the side. I want to be able to move furniture and throw things in the back without worrying whether the bed gets scuffed. Trucks like these are perfect for being used as…
LOL! Did’t catch that initially, but I second this warning. That water ain’t grey anymore if that’s what you’re going to do with it.
Tacos de Carne Asada? Al Pastor? Chorizo? Con queso?
