You must really hate the game reviews/critiques/thinkpieces that make up about half of this site. Because I’ve got some bad news for you, most of the folks writing those aren’t developers and largely have no professional game production experience whatsoever.

Is an especially dumb argument since we are talking about *writing* and narrative design. I could buy it if we were talking about a subject which absolutely requires years of intensive training and arcane knowledge.

Most computy science industry professionals lack formal training in computer science.  Even in the games industry.  The whole field is dominated by autodidacts

I find this comment ironic because i have seen unpaid modders that are more competent than professional developers ever are(Skyrim modders for example). I enjoyed your article quite a lot. Very good insight. I just absolutely hate the title. As you said, you’re not a psychologist. You’re not telling THE TRUTH about game addiction. This is just one of many insights. Don’t try to click bait me on an article that’s supposed to expose people and their addiction.
