Perhaps you’re just projecting?
I am not embarassed.

You must really hate the game reviews/critiques/thinkpieces that make up about half of this site. Because I’ve got some bad news for you, most of the folks writing those aren’t developers and largely have no professional game production experience whatsoever.
Is an especially dumb argument since we are talking about *writing* and narrative design. I could buy it if we were talking about a subject which absolutely requires years of intensive training and arcane knowledge.
Most computy science industry professionals lack formal training in computer science. Even in the games industry. The whole field is dominated by autodidacts
I hope you are being sarcastic. Most hackers for example lack formal training in computer science, just as one example.
I find this comment ironic because i have seen unpaid modders that are more competent than professional developers ever are(Skyrim modders for example). And we have to rely on crackers(who are also unpaid) to crack Denuvo as well. Just because you are a employer doesn’t give you the excuse to be arrogant and act…
So, only people with formal training are allowed to join a professional discussion ? so IceFrog/Eul for example, the fans that created DOTA, had nothing to contribute to game development really? or Steve Jobs actually had nothing to contribute to IBM? I agree the internet with its endless source of articles in any…
Oh an online mob? Demanding somebody get fired.
Thank you for this. If a man is being sexist, call his ass out on it, but simply being a female does not insulate you from all criticism, and it certainly doesn’t mean that all criticism comes from a place of misogyny.
The irony is she’s the one acting like a special snowflake and as if fans aren’t worthy of her time or attention. Which makes it all the more ironic that she puts so much time and effort taunting fans in public. Anyone who acts like that in the real world to their customers is going to be fired and should be.…
This is the most dead-on take. The same people complaining about this firing actively cheer and propagate an atmosphere in which this precise type of firing is commonplace. In other words, they approve of the tactic, they just don’t like seeing it applied to people whose views they agree with. We should all be against…
I’m glad most everyone else sees through this ridiculous narrative. Just because you play the victim card doesn’t mean you’re free from criticism.
Just because a man offers a dissenting opinion, or an opinion at all, does not make it ‘mansplaining’, which is also one of the more idiotic fucking terms coined in the past decade - on par with YOLO. Gender/sex had absolutely NOTHING to do with the situation until she made it so.
Kotaku still running with the narrative that she’s the victim after she was fired for hurling insults at their community and partners. It’s a shame.
Got me. Also got me on why Price was let go; I’m just saying she’s not completely innocent and her Twitter is full of the same type of tweets. For somebody that is a public mouthpiece for a company, you have to have some awareness.
As for the mob mentality: welcome to 2018. We have people getting fired because of…
Not participating in social media at all seems like the best thing to do these days.
I’m not a fan of the games-as-service model being foisted on everything.
Who? I generally have no idea about any of these people other than what I have read here
I enjoyed your article quite a lot. Very good insight. I just absolutely hate the title. As you said, you’re not a psychologist. You’re not telling THE TRUTH about game addiction. This is just one of many insights. Don’t try to click bait me on an article that’s supposed to expose people and their addiction.
i just cant help but feel that *hamster* is one toke over the line. i dont even have a good argument against it. i dont know when i became such a wet blanket. im sure once i get my hands on him ill learn to stop worrying and love the ball.
