This seems an appropriate place to share a poem that has forever haunted me:

Oh, we haven’t forgotten.

That’s called cooking I think.

Whoa, this happened with my parents too. My Dad used to be borderline hippy in the 70s, he was definitely hard-left. Now he’s hard-right. It’s like a switch was flipped. He bought a gun and keeps it at hand at all times.

Agree. I’ve been French pressing my coffee for nearly a decade. I’ve had to replace my press once. It cost $25 on the Amazon. I buy good, whole beans from a local roaster. They’re relatively pricey, I guess (about $14/lb), but I’m getting super fresh, delicious beans and supporting a local craftsman, so I’m very glad

Leave the slices on a cutting board. If they’re thinly sliced they thaw out in no time.

Everything should be weighed, even wet ingredients, and it should be done using grams and baker’s percentages. That way you can scale anything easily and all you’ll need is a digital scale. it pisses me off that official sources (cookbooks, etc.) don’t use them.
