I noticed the “females” part too.
I noticed the “females” part too.
And I couldn’t help but notice that he referred to women as “the females” as he complained about rap. Meanwhile, he doesn’t say anything about the REAL LIVE Black women on the train (at least, not in the parts you quoted. I don’t particularly want to read all his shit.).....
Given the sheer apathy and hatred towards Dr. King, the Civil Rights Movement (or any movement towards Black liberation) and the plight of people of color in America shown throughout history by the vast majority of white people—nah, we’re not playing to your white fragility. If an “ally” thinks their feelings matter…
TL;DR: NOT ALL WHITE PEOPLE.
“Inside, I want to tell them that we are all alike, that sharing constructive conversations and experiences is what builds a bridge to understanding,”
How do you prepare a meal (let’s say 3-4 different dishes with different preparation methods/lengths) so that everything finishes at around the same time and nothing gets cold, without getting super stressed in the last 20 minutes and needing half a meditation sesh before being able to enjoy the food you just made…
Angostura are damn fine, both Thomas and Scrappy’s are excellent as well.
I don’t think that bitters are an acquired taste, like many alcohol types. They’re either good, or they’re not. You can get a bottle for $8 and it might be ok at best, but as someone who almost exclusively drinks whisky and whisky cocktails…
I am so bummed. Going to miss you. I’ve always enjoyed your articles - thorough and well-researched. Someone is going to have big shoes to fill.
Let us know where you land. Best wishes.

Oh no, just when the podcast returns! You have a great voice; will you be podcasting anywhere?
I’m not on Lifehacker as much as some, but whenever I saw an article that was especially interesting or well-written, I noticed it was usually by Alan Henry. And you always engage with commenters in such a positive, constructive way. Good luck wherever you are headed next. With your talent and positive attitude,…
Conan says it so well. You will be missed Alan, very much. I have greatly enjoyed having you on Lifehacker all these years.
Hey Alan, I’m one of the “lurkers”, I actually signed up to this Kinja thing just in order to make this comment. I want you to know that I’ve thoroughly enjoyed reading your articles on Lifehacker for the past many years. Actually, when I enjoyed an article, I sometimes scrolled up to see who wrote the article and…
Why are you trying to break my damn heart, you fool?!
You will be missed, Alan. Godspeed!
Dammit! Dude, you were the highlight of the site for me. I wish you the best but for now, while I’m upset with your departure, you’re a total poopymcjerkface! :(
I’ve always enjoyed your articles, Alan. One that I’ll always remember was the one a few years back you did on properly taking care of cast iron cookware... I had forwarded it to my wife and she finally stopped abusing our pans, thus ending the years long constant back and forth bickering on the issue. 😁
I randomly found one of your posts a few years back and discovered this site. It was after repeating that process a few times, and always with your posts, that I decided that I should create an account (not this one) and add you guys to my RSS feed. It’s been a pleasure reading your work and gaining the knowledge that…
