Sir, this is a Wendy’s.
Sir, this is a Wendy’s.
Are you thinking of the same trailer??? The one where Noctis seems to be fighting an internal fall into darkness through an escalating struggle that separates him from those he depends on and wears him down, only for the trailer to end with a red-eyed evil Noctis losing himself to the darkness and stabbing Lunafreya?…
See, Yoshida, no matter what you do there WILL still be people in America writing novels about dumb shit in your game’s first trailer.
100%. The Omen trailer they released a month or two before the game came out is still one of my favorite trailers of all time, but it has absolutely nothing to do with the plot of the game, even from an abstract thematic level. It’s bizarre, and set expectations up in a strange way.
I mean, also hype. Do you remember XV'S ad campaigns leading up to release?
if they were smart then they would just completely rebrand the Xbox in Japan. it needs a different name and a new image.
French people are always represented with a beret and a baguette and nobody gives a damn in my country. We find it funny. That trend of being offended by everything is what makes me eyeroll.
The problem is that they have mangled the concept of “Racism” to something entirely different to what they used to be. Now it’s just ‘offensive’ with a race tint.
No, not remotely.
You accused one side of making “irate demands” instead of trying to “offer positive suggestions for potential changes.”
Yeah but then I guess the question is why does your offense outweigh someone else’s non offense as to whether a genuinely harmless digital sticker should exist or not?
This is about a twitch emote... Let’s not forget that.
A twitch emote that mostly offended white americans.
What’s wrong with Maracas? Considering it’s a “celebration” of Latin America, I’d thought that maracas would be pretty appropriate no? Did the maracas traumatize you as a child with their thunderous shaking?!
As a person who’s Hispanic but not one of the US Big Three (Mexican, Puerto Rican or Cuban - depending on where I go, people will inevitably think I’m one of those), I’m not offended by these but it was definitely an eye roll for me. But hey, I’m not Mexican - I imagine that if my culture was constantly distilled to…
I never said it didn’t.
I mean... people not listening to minorities sounds like exactly what I was saying? It takes two to find common ground - if one side doesn’t make an effort, nothing is achieved.
On the flipside, as long as you can find ONE Hispanic person who IS bothered by this, it instantly and permanently is indefensible and evil!
I think the question is, how do you make Hispanic icons that cater to all Hispanics equally (and not just Mexicans for example)?
i woudl love to see an actual definition for cultural appropriation, becasue that is the murkiest concept, and every person who makes a snide and unhelpful super short explanation does nothing to help people understand the actual definition.
Why are we still letting whypipo decide what’s offensive on behalf of other races/cultures?
