I think that’s a large reason why FFXIV is widely considered the best Final Fantasy in a long time, largely because it mostly disposes with alot of the edgey 13 year-old grim dark posturing, and goes back to the sincerity found in earlier Final Fantasy games.

“Gods and Monsters” was like, 1000 times better of a name than this ridiculously generic game-title-generator sounding “Immortals: Fenyx Rising”

keep in mind that 34.99 isn’t just for the console, it also covers 2 years of xbox live and game pass. which, if you paid for everything individually would cost you $859.

You do realise that the installments include 24 months of access to Live gold and gamepass?

Well, Emet-Selch wasn’t particularly interesting when first introduced (more of a flamboyant odd ball whose only hook was that he was the founding father of the Empire returned and an Ascian), nor was Elidibus really interesting until we learned about his past and motivation here.

The Shadowbringers story has just been 10/10 spectacular. Elidibus was really dry but they really brought it together in 5.3

One of the theories I’ve heard is, after we slayed Emet in 5.0, there was no more unsundered Ascians. Given Elidibus was already already part of Zodiark, he is a primal. So when he seperated

The game is not free-to-play, no. It’s a full,$60 retail release.

So the game is free? Or do I have to pay $60 for the privilege of paying extra money to get the stuff that’s already in the game?

I don’t understand why you’d design a cartoony game with clear inspiration from Wind Waker to be a harsh survival rogue like where dying deletes your entire game progress. People who love super harsh difficulty games generally like a harsh art style to go with the harsh gameplay and people who like soft, pretty

“But pity the message is so ordinary when they could have been talking about democracy or more powerful things… And they didn’t use it.”

...there’s no such thing as a “good” route....So, in short, I don’t tread the path of “good” or “evil.”

I feel like they haven’t known what they’re doing since Halo 4. The franchise just got out from under them.

Yeah, but those “unjust terms” are usually actually things that are exploitative to the detriment of the smaller party. In this case, it’s literally just two giants going “you’re going to give me money” “actually no, I’m not going to give you any money” when they’re both making massive, obscene profits already, to the

Oh you sweet summer child. Everyone knows DC refuses to acknowledge Stephanie Brown exists almost to spite of her fanbase. At best they’ll only barely acknowledge her depending who’s writing the Bat Books.

Meanwhile Apple’s bringing receipts showing Epic wanted it’s own side deal before this tantrum

Except it seems for most players, he was right.  People aren’t sticking around for Classic in the long run.

There’s no pleasure in being right about it, but people predicted exactly this before classic even launched. Particularly, that launch would have a big influx of “tourist” players who lose interest a few months in, while the long-term players all hit level cap and stay there. Manually assembling a group below cap

Nostalgia is a helluva drug.

Yes, as it turns out, many of Classic’s systems were changed because they weren’t good, and nostalgia changes a lot of memory
