No C&D has been issued currently. Only DMCA takedowns have been issued thus far. Feels almost intentional that they use DMCA since it’s really the least they can do legally and still protect their IP.

Correction: AM2R has not received a Cease and Desist letter as of yet. Currently, the only actions taken have been DMCA which are considerably less harsh than a full C&D. The developer intends to continue to develop and distribute (though via what means is currently unknown) updates and bug fixes (of note is a Gravity…
I grabbed it recently and I only had one major issue and it was not repeatable, so I’m not even 100% sure it was the game’s fault. They apparently did get it straightened out eventually.
Except sometimes a developer keeps the PC version in lockstep with the console counterparts.
It’s certainly Nintendo and PC that caters more to my tastes. I like playful, simple stuff mostly. So, Nintendo and smaller PC exclusive games are great for me. With PC I also get the added bonus of the occasional AAA title, but that makes up such a small portion of my overall library, so I could live without.
Actually, yes. I owned a Wii U before I built my PC and at the time had no intentions of ever buying another console. I was kicking around the idea of building a PC, but I’d been doing that for years at that point, so that hardly qualifies as a plan.
Except I did just that. If I’m buying a console, it’s going to be a Nintendo console...because I’ve got PC for everything else.
I clearly stated that the shutdown of 3rd party apps had significantly less effect on server performance in the second to last paragraph of my original response. I also argue that shutting them down is as much or more so about security in my eyes.
The same can be said of the internet right now regarding Pokémon GO though. It’s been a giant echo chamber on the subreddit, Kotaku, and other gaming sites. If looking at the internet, it appears the problems are universally perceived and everyone’s quitting because of it. In reality, it’s certainly more complicated…
Yes, because ranting and name calling certainly show that you know everything...
And stay far away from the actual characters in the anime. This absolutely should be a CW styled shared universe, but new characters dealing with the shit hand they were dealt.
Are we in a Pokémon GO article’s comment section? Because I feel this would be appropriate there as well...
You don’t understand how an API works do you. Every time a 3rd party app used actual APIs to get data from the server, that is one more call to the server as if there was one more copy of the app using the server at the time.
Quite a few actually.
You do know you can dump items, right? I mean, if you’re not using recovery items anyhow, just toss ‘em.
Yeah, rural as we are, we’ve all made it into at least the 50s in terms of Pokédex entries. I mean, you’re really going to have to travel to catch ‘em all, but the local population is still pretty solid.
How so? I play and came into the game planning to play in a “as you go” manner. I don’t play on weekends and holidays; I play as I go about my day like I would any other mobile game.
Funny, I figured everything out pretty quick. Am I odd in the fact that I tinker with absolutely everything?
No, rural living and I frequently commute in and around a large city.
Depends on who you are talking to. I’ve yet to meet a person in the flesh who has complained about any of this. I, my wife, cousins, brother-in-law, and others all play and nobody has said anything about it at all.
