Radiologist here (doctor specializing in medical imaging), and I agree about the poor image quality from lower field strength (open) MRI. The greater the field strength (1.5 or 3.0 tesla), in general, the better image quality. That being said, there may be good reason to use a lower field strength 1.5T MRI, like a
