Simmons’ claim is that ESPN fucked up Grantland’s monetization; he also claims that The Ringer is profitable. And he didn’t sound like he was bullshitting. I doubt he is with all the pod adverts he gets (I’ve listened to maybe four of his Ringer pods).

Counterpoint: his last home-and-home podcast pair with Zach Lowe was pretty good. As long as Simmons sticks to basketball, he’s ok in my book as he definitely knows his shit and is passionate about it.
