Sterilization, basically. They slowly removed tricks that acted as barriers to new players becoming good players to "level the playing field" and make it more like CoD. In 1.3, the game was much more reliant on individual skill than it is now.

They changed perfection when they added a fucking riot shield and ruined Inferno, the best map.

Counter-Strike stopped requiring skill when it went to Steam.

The Vita will allow you to go into standby mode and resume where you left off. No save state though.
