"I don't know how to thank you guys!" "I don't know WHY to thank you guys..."

Can't we just focus on forgotten interesting cars instead of using them as a vehicle to bash a demographic?

There's been more than one incident. Just yesterday there was a news piece about a creeper driver who picked up a bunch of girls Tuesday night and made inappropriate advances in San Francisco, and another in Florida earlier this week with a driver reaching down a passenger's (woman) blouse and fondling her because

Tell me again how licensing, background checks, certification, paid bond, and all the other things that are required to legally operate a taxi, are so bad and outmoded and not needed for online ride sharing programs...

Though I loved the looks of my Garelli SSXL (after I took off some body pieces and added clip-ons), the reliability had it sitting in my apartment about 10x more than I was riding it.

Rumor has it that after pwning his sons, the father told them he previously had and would continue to have sexual relations with their mother.

It's a belt made of metal links that uses a unique tooth design where the teeth are on the sprocket, not the belt.

It's revolutionary.

Frankly I'm appalled that nowhere in here is use your god damn turn signal. Oh, you're merging over in front of me, would have never guessed, think now would be a good time to practice my PIT maneuver strategy?

Only three real questions.

Fattest states are Red States that are deeply into climate denial. Least fat seems to be mainly Blue States who accept climate change. Umm coincidence?

I like to imagine that multiple black women have called him a punk and his oblivious takeaway was that they thought he was Ashton Kutcher.

I'm glad my taxi company has two separate apps that people can use (Go Fast Cab and Curb, which is the largest in the US). I'm not sure where you get your information from about the literally tens of thousands of cab companies in the US, and how much they all hate technology, but hey, I don't come to Jalopnik for any

A very smart call — no puns intended.

There was an incident two weeks ago when an uber driver was checking his phone app and knocked someone down and killed them. Uber basically held up their hands and said "nothing to do with us, this guy is self employed". Because he was working for hire his insurance will deny the claim. There are instances of

How about passengers who are injured in accidents whilst being in an Uber, who then find out that their is no insurance that they can sue. Uber will, and have, denied they are responsible and the driver is just using his own personal car insurance which will deny all claims because the car was used "for hire", the

It might make sense to add a little context to this article, because things are not quite as cut and dry as the article and the comments suggest. It does stand to reason that the taxi companies (or rather their organization) are worried about competition, but that alone isn't going to convince a judge.

I don't know, we have okay taxi service in Germany. The cars are mostly in great condition and you can order taxis via apps since practically ages. Yes, they are prohibitively expensive and could need some competition on prizes.

If the issue with uber was just a comparison of services your statement would be correct, but it is not. They refuse to go through all of the requirements all other car services use, it is hard to compete with someone when they start out a mile ahead...None of this even mentions their terrible practices...
