Oh man was I obsessed with this game as a kid. I can still hear the soundtrack just looking at the screenshots in the article. What’s funny is I struggled to ever solve it when I was younger and gave up at a certain point (I think I was too young to get the clues telling you what you need to proceed to the next area),

I remember this game really getting in my head when it came out. Especially when the virus takes over. The game itself starts to act like it’s glitching from the virus and the Colonel starts saying cryptic things like telling me I’ve been playing too long and need to go to sleep (I knew I was nearing the end of the

I was also skeptical as someone who loves the first game, but after I played a few levels at Pax West I was relieved that it was still as challenging, albeit in a different way. The directional controls aren’t just to dodge or change direction, but also to attack in some cases. When you jump off a wall you’re also

We had a hard time getting into Meme, even in a group of mixed ages. Only because it seemed like too many of the cards were written by teens, for teens. By that I don’t mean the slang or using texting abbreviations, but rather phrases like “when your mom cleans your room and finds___” or “when your teacher ____ in

The guy doing Tony Stark has a perfect Mickey Rourke face. He would kill it as Whiplash or even Marv from Sin City.

Stereogum. Check out their Heavy Rotation page to hear what their writers are currently listening to and you’ll find some great stuff. I also prefer their Best Of lists over Pitchfork’s but that’s just my personal taste.

Great breakdown of the weather mechanics. I never really thought about it but I do remember the lightning level being super frustrating when I was younger. Although NG2 did seem easier than the original to me, but I think that was due to the clone feature letting you split yourself and stay in place while the real Ryu

If you haven’t tried Mr Gimmick it’s probably one of the best platformers on the NES, and getting all the secret items is a real challenge. That one and Little Samson are probably two of my favorite games for the system

Not sure if it’s been called out but there have been multiple pre-credit sequences. My favorite being Tywin melting down Ned’s sword into two. There was also Cersei’s “tell me my future” flashback foreshadowing the fate of her children.
