Yeah, I’m going to go ahead and say that a good majority of these deaths are going to be remembered as narrative malpractice over the long-run and I hope that someone takes these notes to heart. “Kill your darlings” time and again this year did not raise stakes, it only led to many of us checking out far too early.

Oh, I agree, it isn’t arrogance. Snyder is just a shallow thinker. He is not well read, and what he has read/seen, he hasn’t done so in depth. That’s why he is very good at remembering and recreating cool visuals and concepts, but he doesn’t remember the context or purpose behind them.

A major plus for his performance in Dungeons & Dragons is that he’s actually playing Boris Johnson, with a layer of contrived warmth that can’t hide some pathological narcissism.
