Some of it, to be sure, is a reaction against “wokeness,” as we saw with a few of the summer’s biggest hits.

Hadn’t thought of a scenario where Raylan goes looking for Boyd as a civilian, but kind of an interesting idea. I guess if Boyd does indeed run off to Mexico, Raylan wouldn’t have any authority there anyway? I still think it’d be cool to just bring in Karen Sisco (or whatever they have to call Carla Guigino’s

It’s really depressing that after movies that were basically about how “fascism is bad” and “we have to beware of the rise of fascism”, we’re going to get years of TV shows about how “woke progressives are going to destroy everything by reducing military spending and trying to work with former enemies” to account for

These strikes could go on for a loooooong time.

It might be easier to count the 70's rock stars who didn’t have inappropriate relationships than to complain about the ones who did.

oh joy Hollywood has already learned the wrong lessons from Barbie and Oppenheimer.

Prisoner’s dilema has been activated. AMC now gets to make shows and make money because they caved first, every company who continues to hold out will be punished more than AMC.

Did she hurt you?

Everything.  They know that with today’s inflation, no-one is going to compain if prices go up 15% instead of the inflation-only increase of 10%.

One will terrify you and leave you sleepless for days, the other is a sequel to a 70s horror flick.

it must be complicated to structure now that everybody has to pay Jared Leto royalties if they use a terrible italian accent

Love this. Seems like a real opportunity for smaller production houses that aren’t owned by massive pricks to steal a march on the big guys. Not that AMC is a mom and pop operation, but they’re not WB/Disney.

They are giving SAG-AFTRA everything they ask for, and will also be one of the first people to have new shows on the schedule. The longer their competitors take to give in to the union, the more they get to be the only ones with new shows and stars doing press tours/late night circuits.

Do everyone a favor and don’t comment on things you don’t understand.

They’re not waivers. They’re agreements signed with the union in question. It is literally not scabbing.

Are you special ed? They were granted waivers by the union itself because AMC is going to individually allow all union demands, like A24 before it.

They got waivers for agreeing to all their demands. That’s an issue for you? Giving the union what it wants?

The terms of the Interim Agreement are essentially that the producer agrees to SAG-AFTRA’s current demands.

When A24 got back to work it was because they gave the unions everything they asked for. Dunno if the same is the case here, but I imagine it has to be at least similar.
