I don't think they think it's Ok. I think they were just woefully unprepared. A lot of the economics of Groupon don't pan out for all businesses. But buyer-beware and all that.

I really can't speak on behalf of the US as any sort of expert, but I think it has to do with the Big Risk= Big Reward theme that's embedded DEEP within our culture.
