Thanks! I figured the theory would be pretty close to what you described. That any dollar spent by the gov would come from taxes and therefore be a net-zero impact on the economy. No, I get that. putting parking brake on after you let off the normal brake (and the parking pawl catches) wouldn’t do anything. The e-brake needs to be the one holding the weight.

This confirms my theory that using a the e-brake when you park an automatic is a waste. People are concerned that the parking lock will break because of the force of parking a car on a hill. You just confirmed that the parking lock can take a serious hit without breaking.
