Ha, true. That did even apply before the crazy market of now. I guess I was thinking strictly in peak costs vs deals.

In the context of “having” to buy though, if you need a car now and can’t wait for a placed order to come in at MSRP, you’ll still be paying less for a used car than a new one when you look at markups for available inventory or flippers.

The cost cap is why this isn’t really realistic - cost capping parts is one thing, but so far any series that’s tried to cost cap development work hasn’t really been successful. It’s nearly impossible to enforce.

This is why even in spec series where parity is supposed to be built in, the big teams are still the big

Fellow ST owner - I agree but I’ve found part of the issue is packaging and seating position.

It’s a bit more than that - they’re not just hard foam/padding, there’s plastic ridges that go up into them to help form the shape. Some people take to cutting those out, and then it’s less of a thing.

Holy shit this series had faded from my memory and now just burst back in. I LOVED that show back in the day. Damn, not me now going on a deep rabbit hole lol.

I think in this context the hoodline/seating position comment is more about what a buyer wants for themselves rather than affecting others (though ease of pedestrian/child visibility could be debated).

I hope this springboards into more. Bread (spelling intentional lol) is a great representative of what we need more of in motorsports across every category. He’s fun as hell and it’s impossible not to smile around him. Props to Kimberly for seeing that too.

Yeah we straight up got told “don’t go over there wearing the logo” - not so much because actual danger to ourselves, but absolute drunken shenanigans targeted at any “business” folk lol

I get to camp out with friends at The Glen for the 6 Hour every year (same group as Elizabeth) and it’s great to just disconnect and

Hilariously, I’ve been to Sebring for the 12 hours or testing nearly a dozen times, but never for the traditional fan experience because I was always working it.

I did have a coworker go over to Green Park in a golf cart and never got the golf cart back though lol

I’m from SW MI where it was indeed occasionally decent and only gets better in the UP for sure, but now I’ve spent so much time driving mountain/canyon roads that I have become snobbish af to what qualifies as a good road lol. I’m at least self aware and try to be realistic but oof

Superspeedway, Short Track, Road Course. Hopefully you’ll be able to make it to one of each at some point because they each have a unique feel.

I work in racing and currently bounce between a dozen or so series and WRC is one that I love covering but haven’t been onsite for yet so I totally agree. It’s so cool.

Yeah my dude! We’ll make that happen 😎

What motorsport do you either not follow/haven’t been able to attend yet that you’d like to check out?

Cherohala Skyway and a lot of the other less famous roads surrounding Tail of the Dragon. Angeles Forest. Beartooth Highway. PCH through Big Sur.

Unfortunately the best roads in Michigan always have to have the disclaimer of “it’s pretty good... for Michigan”

Yeah like we all obviously have views on which protests are actually legit vs just outraged idiots, etc... but left, right and center should all agree that things like this are fucking dangerous and are more about power than politics.

You can think the protestors are jackoffs and their cause misguided without supporting this kind of extra-legal, precedent-setting type of action. Otherwise the whims of the party in power determine which type of protests are acceptable or not. And whatever your political stance, you shouldn’t support that.
