I’m going to reply to this while also incorporating a couple of excerpts from one of your comments I just read on the truck article:

Absolutely same.

Ok well hold on, no. I’m a gearhead through and through and I’m absolutely excited about transitioning the broader market to EV or other alternatives because I also love spending time in National Parks and protecting the environment. Are my two passions in complete contradiction? Yes. But it’s about mitigation.

Well I shall do so then haha! But also good to know ;)

Obligatory “Uggh a slideshow” aside... WHY IS THE Z4 COUPE ON HERE? I legit agree with basically every other one, especially the Juke (so much damn character but so ugly).

Same exactly for me. I’m constantly split between trying to mitigate this hobby with my other main love, National Parks. If that compromise could keep the rumbling engines while being better for the environment, GIMME. I’ll pay a premium for that.

She linked to the exact type of articles you’re looking for that she wrote for other sites. Mate, this is Jalopnik. This is how it has been here for years, why is there still surprise at this.

My dude, read the room. That post was incredibly sarcastic ;)

Biggest difference is the transmission - this gets the Shelby’s Tremec instead of the MT-82. Huge deal right there. Second is improved cooling over the standard GTs - this one is a bit more track day focused. And yeah there’s a power bump and a few more niceties but the first two are the most important ones to me.

I can thoroughly drive a stick, heel-toe included, with track experience as well and I enjoy rev-matching features some days. Depends on my mood.

Oh yeah I was just specifically speaking to HFIII’s character - I’ve worked with him personally on a few things and he’s not a “spoiled trust fund baby” type of person at all. Very genuine/down to earth in ways he didn’t need to be with me. But there’s for sure always the nepotism aspect in a family business, no

Completely unrelated to the main point of your post but since I can’t tell... do you know that Henry Ford III already exists? Apologies if you do and I’m just explaining something you’re aware of lol.

But yeah, he exists and is actually quite far from just a trust fund baby for sure.

Look, your overall point is very valid and I agree with a lot of it, I really do. And I adore big rumbling V8s as much as the next gearhead. But I also love frequenting National Parks...

I agree that DPi was primarily IMSA even if they had been allowed at Le Mans, but

Your word of note isn’t quite accurate: when DPi was planned and created, it was done so in conjunction with the ACO in order for it to be able to compete at Le Mans, hence adding the international aspect to it.

Ok I know almost nothing about motorcycle track days, so if that’s the difference please ignore this, but where are you finding cheap track days that make $250 the expensive ones? $250 is cheap even for what I’m used to at regional tracks, let alone the $4-800 that a single day at a top-tier track will cost, depending

M-Sport Ford World Rally Team is how it typically is denoted.

Keep in mind you’re looking at a picture of it fully committed in a high-lateral load corner. That’s about as severe as it will get.

I mean don’t get me wrong, I still agree with you, too many cars have too little sidewall.

I hear you on that. For me, it’s so dependent on location. Living here in the Midwest, no car is really fun on a daily basis for me. I need either a track, autocross or a plethora of curvy roads.

Ah yes I definitely understand. I’m still single and have moved 6 times in the past 8 years, so it’s definitely less of a burden for me to try more aggressively for a move. I’m originally from SW Michigan, so 20+ years were definitely more than enough of that for me, but I do understand what’s to like about that side
