No, I get it. He’s one of those actors who doesn’t seem like a real person. Perfectly symmetrical face with a perfect hairline and jawline and this designed-in-a-lab smile. I remember the first dead dad flashback on Never Have I Ever where he pops up, and my reaction was just, “get the fuck out of here.”

A24 is all I need

I’ve read that Anson Mount was out a lot on paternity leave. To me, that’s all to the good, as it allows the other characters a chance to breathe, and for us to see some of their stories.

It should be noted that part of the reason that we have less Pike this season is that Anson Mount and his wife had a child a little over a month before filming began. I think he requested less time on set (which he was granted).

This sucks & he was great on Never Have I Ever. But one nuance that I think might be getting glossed over is I’m pretty sure he was not a regular cast member, he recurred on s1 and infrequently after (he played a character who died before the show started).

How strange that these independent productions can afford to abide by the new guidelines but the billion dollar corporations can’t. It’s almost like those corporations are fucking liars.

They’re really giving Pike the shaft so far this season. This Kirk is growing on me, but they’re taking a decent amount of screentime from Anson Mount, who is probably my favorite captain since Picard. He deserves better. 

Paul Wesley’s Kirk is growing on me. He’ll never be Shatner, but he does an good take on the character, that it’s own thing and not a Shatner or a Chris Pine impression. I quite liked the exploration of Jim and Sam’s sibling relationship. As someone who has had a testy sibling relationship I get it. It’s kind of funny…

He chose his weirdo cult over his child. Having a child you don’t have any contact with is one of those things that very clearly indicates that someone is a piece of shit on a fundamental level.

Cruise is such an interesting star.
