Yeah by those criteria Shakespeare in Love should be on the list.
I agree he doesn’t have the charisma, but one thing he is better then Shatner at is showing just how tactical and intelligent Kirk is. So to me it’s a bit of a wash.
Usually I don’t get too worked up about listicles, but the absence of Malcolm X from this list is criminal.
Haven’t had a chance to watch the new episode yet, but Chapel definitely looks in a good mood in that screenshot.
Surprised to not see Tár on this list. I loved that it was rather brutal in displaying Lydia Tár’s faults and shortcomings. It could have easily veered into hagiography, considering how revered she is in real life.
As an English person, Downey gets 10 extra points for not only doing the creditable Cockney London accent of the young Chaplin, but also doing the posher accent that Chaplin started doing as he got older.
Should have capped it off with actually watching “Altered State” to really give you a case of the mindfucks
A slideshow of things I can’t watch (except Strange Days apparently)? Neat.
Isn’t the explanation why many of these movies aren’t on streaming is that getting the music clearances for the films on streaming would cost more than the revenue they would generate?
Strange Days is currently streaming on HBO Max.
“We’re coming from an irrational time of overspending with limited focus on return on investment,” Wiedenfels says, adding that 2023 is about “relaunching and building.”
And maximizing the revenue streams of their brand content!
But they have strategies for vertical brand integration!
Yes, but she was a rich, first class passenger. They would have at least made a show of looking for her.
Goddamn, I fucking hate every shit-ass word of that corporate-speak horseshit. Anyone who utters words like, “We’re really on track for a lot of asset value creation and free cashflow generation,” and “we’re coming from an irrational time of overspending with limited focus on return on investment,” shouldn’t be…
I’ve got a better Titanic conundrum for you; Did Jack doom the RMS Titanic by saving Rose? If she had succeeded in throwing herself overboard, someone would have eventually noticed, a “man overboard” alert would have been sounded, and the ship would have stopped to carry out some futile attempt at search and rescue.…
The Thing script doesn’t have an answer but Childs does have his gold tooth. And if the Thing replicates the person through DNA then the gold tooth wouldn’t be there. I suppose I prefer to think that they were 2 humans that froze to death at the end. :-)
I don’t know how Holocaust survivors went back to the place they were taken from. In Mr. Clary’s case, Paris.
