I too do not believe she’s 25, but we should also consider that the Australian sun is a hell of a drug.

Considering the ageism that occurs all the time in the entertainment industry, I’m not mad at her for lying about her age. I get it. Who cares? She got her “break” in the states in her late 20s early 30s and thought she’d buy herself a few more years of getting roles before she became “too old” for certain parts

I think we should all keep our mouths shut and delete this post. Girlfriend’s got *maybe* a few years before she’s too old to play “wife” to the likes of Liam Neeson, Tom Cruise, etc.

I can see the logic in actresses doing this if they don’t hit their big break until they’re already in their 30s. They have to know that they’ll be dealing with a pretty short window to make their money. Didn’t Jessica Chastain try something similar a couple of years ago, only to be contradicted by a yearbook photo?

I've read both of these stories and still have no idea what happened

Kara is the most thin-skinned and juvenile person writing here, and that’s saying a lot for a website that also employs Jia Tolentino.

Kara Brown took offense at this. It’s all it took:

Stormtrooper

You’re right, that walk is NOT good. It’s like she’s had one too many drinks at the beach and is hoping to make it to the can in time.

The dehydration alone would’ve necessitated hospitalization. Dehydrated children look like they’re knocking on death’s door because they are. That in itself is extremely dangerous. It’s how kids die of the flu and diarrhea in countries with inadequate health care. This whole story is infuriating and heartbreaking.

it’s hard to say that parents making a “fatal choice” for their child can be made worse.

“water with maple syrup, juice with frozen berries and finally a mixture of apple cider vinegar, horse radish root, hot peppers, mashed onion, garlic and ginger root”

I rather describe it like this: I don’t take away from anyone their success — I don’t. She worked hard and is a genuinely nice person. That’s awesome.

I’m a grad student at Davis, and I have been here since the pepper spray incident in 2011. It’s worth noting that the 2011 protests were part of Occupy but also a direct response to proposed tuition increases. After the pepper spray incident, and the increased protests that followed, the regents not only voted to

And then we paid the cop! For his emotional distress!

Can you please update the story to reflect the fact that that asshole, I mean officer, filed for workers comp for his distress and was awarded 38k?? Which is more than the protestors.

It’s the cop’s casual arrogance about that really gets me. He’s not “scared” or in any kind of stressful, split-second decision making situation. He’s just casually pepper spraying a bunch of sitting students like he was watering flowers or something.

Don’t forget that officer won a worker’s comp settlement for $40,000 due to the psychological stress of pepper spraying the fuck out of peaceful protesters.

See, institutions always defend these folks but I personally think that when you have a dickweed who does dickweed stuff (like point blank macing nonviolent protestors) you always end up costing the institution money. See this (and whatever lawsuit/damages eventually come out of this) and see especially the Chicago
