Super excited to see Jezebel picking up those ice-cold Fandom Wank takes from over a decade ago. Good times.

Not really. The idea is to get people to play your game. Minecraft was a phenomenon. Travis Touchdown is pretty niche. Anyone who wants Waluigi probably already owns the game. Maybe Crash Bandicoot since there’s a new Crash game. I’m sure there’s some unwillingness on behalf of one or both parties to put in Master

If I said I don’t agree with people eating so much as to be obese does that make me an obesephobe?”

Don’t be so fucking stupid.

She does have a right to her opinion. Just as we have the right to not give them money as long as they keep her on the payroll.

“I may not agree with her”.

The same police force that hunts him down with missiles?

Remember when CDPR said Cyberpunk wouldn’t have Microtransactions too?

Game dev is such a “sexy” software dev job (at least from those at an entry level) that they know devs can be replaced at the drop of a hat.

tbf this seems like a problem in tech/development in general.

They answer to investors because they took the company public in order to get more money and now they’re acting exactly like any amoral profit-making machine would do in order to serve one’s owners.

I am seeing the comments in this thread and it baffles me on how people are trying to make excuses for CDPR so they don’t have to feel guilty about playing the game at launch

I agree with most of what you said, but I don’t think it’s as easy as delay the game again instead of crunch. Companies like that usually answer to investors, and they eventually want a return on their money. The game has already been delayed several times. I can totally see a situation where the investors are like,

But they made The Witcher III, which was popular, they can do no wrong!

We don’t know how long their days are right now; if things are rough enough that they’re going back on a public promise of no crunch, I’m assuming that the workers weren’t working 40 hour weeks recently.

I pet him after EVERY SINGLE escape attempt (if he is there, because sometimes he is not). The goodest of good boys needs his love. I do need to work on finishing his nectar gifting, though. I have only given him 4. He needs all the love.

Cerberus gets pets every time

So can we all be honest with the fact that a) Beyond Good and Evil, while certainly an interesting game at the time, is overrated and had very little impact on the medium; b) BGaE 2, from what we’ve seen in the trailers with the swearing ape guy, seems to carry over little of what made the first game interesting and
