the real question is why haven’t you gotten a switch already? having a handheld system to play games on while pooping is the best.

Nocturne isn’t even “hard” just that it routinely forces you to grind way longer than you want to in areas. You’re cruising along like everything is normal then hit a mini boss or boss that’s way above anything else in the area.

Catherine was actually the test game for their HD development in anticipation for full scale Persona 5 development (not the mainline SMT series). They actually ended up scrapping that engine after Catherine though and started over with a different engine with Persona 5. Probably why it took so long for the game…

That FF7R estimate is ludicrous and you know it. Square knows it too. They’ve got the engine done, and the art team etc has already been working on the next part for some 2-3 years by now.

You’re mistaken. Catherine was the Persona team not Shin Megami Tensei. Shin Megami Tensei has been a Nintendo tied title since IV on the 3DS.

That was a rumor that was never confirmed; Atlus NEVER committed to putting SMT on the PS3, let alone the PS4.

It’s ok. Owning a Switch and playing great games on it takes a bit of getting used to, but after a while you won’t even feel the pain anymore.

I’ve been getting back into the PS2 generation and have had Nocturne in my eBay cart for weeks. I almost pulled the trigger yesterday, but this throws an interesting wrinkle into the equation. *buys Digital Devil Saga instead*

That’s Kazuma Kaneko’s art style, and pretty much the defining look of most of the main entry SMT games since the second game in the series.

The game was confirmed for Switch back in 2017, so it’s not like this was a surprise. Also, SMT4 released less than a decade ago, so why were you waiting for SMT5 on PS3/4 since before SMT4 was even a thing? I’m confused about your entire statement...

There are things that could be much worse (ex. FFVII Remake Part 2 not being released until 2030).
