Actually this is the Toyota engine that is renowned for being a sludge producer, and in the Celica didn't it have a lot of problems with oil pressure. I seem to remember Lotus doing something to help the situation.

incorrect, many trade in their old Ferrari on a new one, the dealers make huge profits on these cars. Many would rather pay a premium to purchase from a dealer.
