Manufacturers can get bonus points for CAFE for having things like cylinder deactivation. So whether it helps in the real world or not - they’re that much closer to meeting the 2020 standards. Maybe that’s a contributing factor?

I believe all of the cars are tested before the season starts, they could use that data.
