@jupstin: With insurance I can choose not to have insurance and then pay for everything out of pocket. The guy clearly stated in the video that he told the firemen he would pay anything they wanted... they still refused. An emergency room can't refuse you care, even if you can't pay or even if you're an illegal…

@vinod1978: Federal laws do overrule state laws. And the federal government regulates interstate commerce. But one state has every right to have differing regulations internal to that state, than another state.
