I like the original movie, though they did take way more liberties with the story than the new movie. Yeah, when I waqs in the Army we had this one guy at one of my duty assigments who most would consider “overweight”. However he consistently maxxed his PT tests. Even then, the Army would still tell him his BMI was too high (?? am I getting that right?) and made him do remedial PT to lose the “extra weight”.
