Short term gain for long term disaster. It’s easy to enjoy a massive spike in profits if you start cutting corners so that your P/L statement looks great. But if the corners you’re cutting get you a reputation for making dangerous crap that kills people, well, that’s not a sustainably profitable scenario.
Weekend Update was just electric. Once he hit that set, they practically had to peel him off of it with a spatula. Just dominating it right from the jump. Am I nuts, or did Ed-as-Gumby call Eddie Murphy ‘coon boy’? I was dying. Literally dying.
What about Tim Meadows?
This episode was a really pleasant surprise. Then there’s this famous, I guess, story that the reason Eddie wasn’t really featured in the 40th anniversity show was because he refused to do sketches as that wasn’t what he wanted to be anymore. So to see Eddie really embrace the jokes and sketches here was a sheer…
Neat.
STILL no love for The Lighthouse? Fuck, man. With dafriends like this, who needs Dafoes?
“So what did you do in school today?”
Just a reminder - Deadspin also had one of the best write-ups on the bullshit that was Gamergate, and was one of the first places that recognised what it meant:

I’m just going to vote “present” and see how this plays out
They goddamn better.
I can’t tell if making the lead actress about eleven years old or so would clear up the problem, or make it so much worse . . .
The specific commercial you embedded didn’t read that way to me really. The new Oreo commercial on the other hand. 7-11 dude is totally gonna bang that elf.
I’ve seen my wife go through an entire can of Febreeze in the minivan after the dog let fly with a particularly nasty fart. It was so hard to drive with all the tears in my eyes. Not only from the Febreeze but from the fact it wasn’t the dog that had gas.
I really can’t understand how it could do that much damage to the car and be survivable to the person sitting inside. That’s a heckuva pressure wave.
You might do both of those things in rapid succession to cover the smell of other things you smoked in the car.
So, it’s completely off the topic, but I wanted to post this somewhere it might get seen: Anyone else getting the latest Kinja update where notifications don’t actually take you to the comment/reply they reference?
