I think you’re putting that way too low at 120. People with crazy high IQ scores tend to have all the problems you mentioned, but we’re usually talking 160+ - I don’t think 120 is even on standard deviation above the average.

I think you’ve outlined the ideal circumstances for developers to actually have leverage over publishers - “This game is either getting delayed so we can finish it without killing ourselves, or it’s getting delayed because the whole staff quit. It is *not* hitting your deadline.”

And given this reality...I don’t know that striking would be effective.  They’re already swimming in fresh young workers, would be really hard to convince those kids not to take jobs at twice the wages they’d get anywhere else.

And on the worker end, there’s clearly enough new young programmers willing to do this that they aren’t struggling to find employees.

Also - Gronk has talked about how the rigors of playing NFL football for a decade have seriously messed up his body.  He just walked away from that, and I don’t think he’s looking to have a new reason to pop painkillers and lose mobility.
