Or a string quartet version of “Something I Can Never Have”.

What about Sanders’ history as a legislator makes you think he’s good at getting things passed? He’s spent 30 years in Congress and managed to make *no* allies in that time, and not pass any meaningful legislation.
The closest I can see to it being a “conspiracy” is that some animator irritated about the abomination he was working on leaked it to the public...and I haven’t seen any evidence for that.
I absolutely buy that a Chinese national would not understand how offensive those “accessories” are. But this was in New York, and it was being run by an American organization - *somebody*, *somewhere* in the chain of command should have applied the brakes.
As long as there are *systems* there will be pork. It’s just that when it happens in private business, we call it “profit” and revere it.
We don’t really have a mechanism for nationwide referenda.
Personally, I question why they’re posting recipes at all on a vertical called “The Takeout”.
What she saw was him disappear in an explosion, or at best get sucked into the Upside-Down. Either one would be sufficient for a person who doesn't know they're in a story to assume he's dead.
I preferred to mock that one with synonyms:

This reminds me of the reason we need someone besides patients to analyze the efficacy of care - because patients suck at it. They can’t tell you how effective their treatments were relative to the alternatives, or if extra costs paid off, or any number of other things, but they by God are impressed with smiling…
Yeah, I don’t object to “Oat Milk” for the same reason I don’t object to “Peanut Butter” - it says what it’s made of right on the label. It’s also why I take issue with “Just Eggs”, because it just *isn’t* eggs.
The situation you’re describing already happened with horses. They were the primary, well, *workhorse* of overland travel for the first ~150 years of the industrial revolution, and were then replaced by automobiles over the course of ~20-30 years. I see no reason that a decline in cattle herds couldn’t behave…
I don’t think groping your female costar and terrorizing a *child* were A-OK in the 70s.
Also - if you’re an aspiring actress being invited to look at a script by a tremendously powerful producer, you gotta admit there are *incredibly strong incentives* to ignore warning signs.
I had enough friends and relatives* who divorced that I was pretty familiar with how it worked; maybe not having to deal with it firsthand made it easier for me to take “they don’t love each other, but they still love you” at face value.
