To let it *really* sink in, watch some of his TV appearances in the 90s. You’ll see Trump responding to questions about his (first) divorce with more thought and eloquence than he currently handles matters of national importance. It’s depressing.

It kind of is - kids are coded to love salt and fat and carbs, same as all humans.
And I would specify *film* actors. Somebody in a live theater run or even serialized television needs to reliably do their job on a regular basis; no amount of one-off brilliance will compensate for delayed rehearsals or missed production deadlines.
I’m genuinely curious to hear examples of these English “state replication” tropes. Reminds me of how Japanese stagehands wearing black meant they were not part of the scene.
Cosmetic.
No. Chess is a far more respected and established competition, and it is not in the Olympics. It is not in the Olympics because it is not an *athletic* competition.
Okay, whoops, Uncut Gems isn’t a Netflix movie - just had Netflix on the brain from Marriage Story and Sandler’s partnership with them.
OK, first C.C. Dowd hands out one of his rare As to a Netflix movie. How can he top that? By giving a B+ to an *Adam Sandler* Netflix movie.
Or is it a reference to this guy?
Exactly. Even if the person isn’t a toxic waste like the employee here, the fact that encountering a person who needs special help *will* get them in trouble for turnaround times will inevitably color the interaction.
Plus, if you think it’s energy inefficient to raise cows, I can only imagine how bad humans are in comparison.
The only racial slur I’ve ever seen actually anger white people is “white trash”.
I am *so* glad they got rid of the meaningless “Attack/Defense” distinction. They’re damage dealers, and they have as much in common as the tanks and supports do within their roles.
Dunno if I’d call Belichick a “respectful and compassionate human being”, but he’s so laser-focused on winning that he doesn’t overmuch care about looking like the big boss man.
I think it’s mostly that good organizations *know what the fuck they’re doing*. If the Raiders had their head screwed on straight, they either would have brought their foot down and not dickered with AB over the helmet (and probably lost him then, but still...), or they would have not thrown a petty fine at him after…
The irony being that the NFC North’s four-way scrap means the winner likely won’t have a great record either. (Though probably 10-6.)
Eh, the Dolphins still aren’t the Browns or the Lions. There’s further to fall, it just takes more than a few bad years.
Especially because a gridiron football roster has 22 starters (plus specialists) - there’s a low ceiling on how much one player can improve your team.
Oh god, fuck Brutalism. Fuck it so hard. It gave my alma mater (UW-Madison) a cavernous block of a student union and a humanities building that would make an awesome FPS level but is a confusing mess as an *actual place to attend classes*. We managed to replace the student union in the 30-50 year window where you can…
