These trucks are so close the difference for me would come down to the tailgate. The LC does not have the split tailgate but the 4Runner retained the roll down rear window, so I’ll take the 4Runner.

I feel like the new Land Cruiser fits kinda where the FJ was when it was out, a retro style 5 seater with really good offroad stats. The Cruiser will be more luxurious but that’s what people are willing to pay for now.
IMO, not really. When i bought my 5th gen 4Runner it was around $39k for the 4Runner and $85k and up for a Land Cruiser. They were markedly different animals. Now, I’d pick the 4Runner all day over this. I’d also like to see how the pricing shakes out for the more premium 4Runners but the rear window alone is a…
The big question will be new LC or a 4Runner with the same drivetrain on the same platform, probably for less money, with a roll down rear window.
Or: new LC or GX for very close to the same money but you get a nicer interior and a V6.
Are there any other options left? Doesn’t sound much different than non-EV people.
The problem with EV charging is you have almost no idea how long it will take. Whereas with a gas station, your max filling time is probably 10 min. per car. But really closer to 5 min per car. If we were even at 20% new cars as EV sales, public charging would be an absolute nightmare.
Why is your one example proof of that?
So much for the stereotype of EV owners being laid-back and friendly lol.
IMO it does not make sense to buy an EV if you are planning to rely on a charging network for anything outside of the occasional longer trip. If it is your commuter car, you’d better have a 40Amp+ charger in your garage or dedicated parking space. Anything else and you’re better off with a PHEV, HEV, or just regular…
My wife and I went to the Carlsbad Outlet Mall 2 Saturdays ago and we got there right as t Mall opened at 10am. There is a very large Tesla Super Charger and another non-tesla charging station.
That’s been my curiosity as well. It’s the same added weight and aerodynamic load; why is the cybertruck affected worse by it?
I truly don’t understand how they screwed this thing up so bad. I feel like one of the benefits of EVs is, theoretically, the platform should be somewhat modular. I, admittedly, don’t know essentially any of the engineering details to the CyberTruck, but it feels like they could have just tweaked the model X platform,…
OUCH. That’s with only a 3k lb trailer? It’s a shame, I had high hopes for EV pickup trucks, but it seems we haven’t yet reached the point of them being a viable replacement to ICE trucks.
Exactly. The 3 and the Y were already on the roadmap when he bought his way into the company and purchased the title of “Founder”. The truck is the first thing that came from his leadership, and it shows.
It seems like the weight of the cybertruck is the main issue with its lack of range, at least when compared to the model X. Depending on trim, the cybertruck comes in 1,500 to 1,700 lbs heavier than the model X which is about a 30% increase in weight. Meanwhile, the cybertruck’s battery is only 23% larger than the…
What’s the point of this thing?
Saw my first Cyber truck in on the road last week and they do get noticed; noticed in the same way some tweaker is wandering around shouting at clouds
That, and weight- the CT weighs at least 1500lb more than an X.
Even a Weinermobile would be cooler than what’s on there now.
My car gets about 20% less range with a small utility trailer so I am not surprised at the reduction but odd that the bigger one loses more- my wild ass guess would be aerodynamics
