Ebert should have won a second Pulitzer for that review. It really warms the cockles of my heart imagining Ebert writing the piece with a giant grin. I imagine it was one of the easiest things he ever wrote. May it last as long as the Dead Sea Scrolls.
The Ebert quote is from this article, which has an even better dunk. In response to Rob Schneider’s comments about rewards a fellow journalist has received, “Schneider was nominated for a 2000 Razzie Award for Worst Supporting Actor, but lost to Jar-Jar Binks.”
I think he just nuked davez67 from orbit...just to be sure.
“Right wing drummer in band doesn’t realize rest of band are leftists” sounds like an Onion article. Does he think B.Y.O.B is about a party in the desert?
You’ll like this one too. It’s from last year, but perfect.
Who else is here reading comments in 2020!?
“This song is awesome. I used to listen to it on the school bus.”

Case in point: The Dixie Chicks, who dared to have a political opinion, and paid dearly for it.
This is an extreme case, but I’ve seen similar comments elsewhere about bands that have been overtly political for years. The right wingers of America still seem to have trouble accepting that everyone who is interesting or creative in the country pretty much hates everything they stand for and, especially, their…
Everybody’s biting Roger Ebert:
If Aqua could stop singing songs about Barbies and girls, I’d really appreciate it. I use to be a fan until their Barbie girl opinions came out. Music is my sanctuary and the last thing I want to hear is Barbie girl BS when I’m trying to enjoy music.
Also from Tom Morello. Pretty sure “davez67" is former House Speak Paul Ryan:
I would guess at least a quarter of rage fans don’t comprehend the lyrics. Probably more.
That episode also confirmed my suspicions that Elijah Wood is a goddamn delightful person.
What a fun character Danny Trejo is.
