I ultimately support the union but there is admittedly a catch 22 here. Which worker does she stand with? The writers picketing or the crew members who can’t pay their rent because of the strike? I am not jealous of her situation, yet this post of hers proves the need for writers. She is a shit writer and a shit chef

Thank God someone thought of the children and made all these fairy tale characters public domain. What a hero. Now we’re finally free to use Snow White and the Big Bad Wolf as characters in our own works.

A Dry White Season won Euzhan Palcy the award for Best First Work at Venice, back in 1989. Regina King premiered One Night in Miami in 2020. Alice Diop won the damn Silver Lion not even a whole year ago for Saint Omer!

“Oscar-nominated filmmaker, Ava DuVernay once again made history as the first Black woman ever to compete in the Venice Film Festival.”*

You clicked, you commented, Kotaku won. I clicked, I commented, Kotaku won.

Misspelled “clarified.”

Expected.

and then the inevitable year in review where they dredge this all up again.

Hogwarts Legacy was an very successful game; however, there’s too many great games to play this year. We had Tears of the Kingdom, Diablo IV and now Baldur’s Gate 3 come out after Hogwarts Legacy. Starfield as next as the next potential big game for a zillion articles to be about.

The next single player steam game on the top selling list is Jedi Survivor at #5 which has 1492 ppl playing right now, nowhere near the 6800 number the article claims is so low...

It’s a single player story-driven game not a live service and it’s been out for 7ish months now. Yes. Nobody played the video game that sold more copies than any other video game in perhaps the best year in video game history. I know Kotaku has an axe to grind because of JK but jesus fucking christ this shit just

yeah but they couldn’t have. the only argument they have is the same one the internet has - big tech bad big company bad muh late stage capitalism!!!

so everybody who wanted to play Call of Duty on PC, played it. This proves that we should be allowed to yank Call of Duty from competing consoles, somehow.

I mean let’s all be serious, they did such a shit job it would have been cheaper to not do it at all. I’ve yet to see anyone call their strategy anything other than terrible. Even this site agrees it was bad. If you’re going to do your job, maybe don’t suck at it.

What are you talking about? The claim is correct that limiting the availability of games to specific stores or launchers has a demonstrable detrimental effect on sales. It’s not just battle.net and CoD, EA and Ubisoft also experienced fallen sales figures after making their games launcher exclusive.

It was just a shitty marketing idea and budlight is dead so that is a positive. It also worked out for her because everyone knows her name now and she can keep rolling with the victim grift.

While that’s good news, the situation overall is an unfortunate but familiar risk for any always-online game

RIP hardcore players.

Dare I say the 360 was the king of it’s era, despite the rings of death in the beginning, they just had way more memorable games. That and how Sony screwed themselves by offering the PS3 for 1000$ at the beginning along with a hacking epidemic. The OG Xbox was still good and made online multiplayer mainstream. Xbox

Nintendo doesn't sell at a loss. Sony and MS do however.
