The first year they used an intagrated transmission cooler and it would always pop inside the radiator thus the redesign of an external tranny cooler.

That’s an actual fact the core is slightly larger but if you go and buy one from an aftermarket radiator shop you’ll get the replacment with the thicker core for all models.

At one time in my life I owned a radiator franchise. The most popular radiator we would sell and over price from ford was the countour models. Not specifically svt just any model in general. They all used the same radiator except for the first year.
