I think Brits generally have a very low tolerance to any kind of fakery, even if it’s mutually-understood showbiz fakery. It’s a sure fire way to quickly make the audience antagonistic and unamused.

It’s weird that you consider the Graham Norton Show to be the UK’s main talk show. Five years ago it would’ve been Jonathan Ross no question, and he is still on ITV. But yeah, Graham Norton tends to be funnier these days.
This Jimmy Fallon guy seems really awkward and unfunny.
You can’t be the only pothead with a pet.
Brian Eno crap
They’re hugely critically successful.
I could probably list on my digits all of the albums which I really enjoy more than half of.
You’re only embarrassing yourself if you think that’s miles away from the truth.
Yeah, that part of the rant was fairly retarded. There are a billion misogynists out there, but John Lennon was a genius. Of course I’ll claim him, and anybody who doesn’t want him is a musical idiot.
P.S. the answer is “England”. Liverpool is in England.
Fire whoever is responsible for this.
“I stopped being a fan because they became popular” — wow, real original. Who cares about the musical content? The really important thing is you. You stopped being part of a special niche, and that means it sucks.
Except a bunch of stuff they did. Like Achtung Baby.
That’s a relief. It sounded like they were casting the Iron Islanders for Season 6, which is book 4 stuff and made no sense at all unless GRRM had a very anaemic story planned for the last two books.
I think the false rape accusations she referred to are just as much of a “real problem”.
You’re right about that being stupid, but which “people”? I followed the links and none of them took me to somebody making a universal claim about female psychology based on the Phaedra myth.
“Sheer malice? I don’t buy it, making a rape allegation is traumatic, no one would do it just because “I hate that guy.””
The logical conclusion of which is that rape should be considered infinitely bad and deserving of every kind of punishment.
Of course women lied historically; some about serious crimes. Most of them didn’t, of course. Same goes for men.
So false rape allegations are really men’s fault. I like what you did there; honestly, classic stuff.
