These are incredible numbers from a stock turbo. My guess is, with an aftermarket tune, and a larger turbocharger, this car might do two seconds, flat. I’m not sure how much these turbos are tuned for low-end, off the line torque, but my gut tells me with a quarter mile time like that, they have to come on boost

“And you lose 80% of that range if there’s a mild cool breeze”

And the batteries will be dead in six months, forcing you to have to replace them at a cost of $1,693,508,294,275,783.03.  LOL

And my road trips are 950 miles and I stop only for gas and don’t let anyone pee. 310 miles range is shit

“Yeah but my commute is 316 miles”

Holy crap - EPA mileage was upgraded from 280 to 315 miles for the AWD version. That’s huge. Excited to be able to afford something like this in 5ish years.

People pay a lot more to cosplay as race car drivers.

Yeah, everything is OK until you hit the back door, then it all goes to shit.

Completely agree.  I appreciate them sticking to the original shape and making a “Jeep Truck”, but it is awful.  I would like to see a two door model with a slight extended cab or something, because the proportions of the 4-dr model just look “off” to me.

One thing I noticed once I saw a few of these in person is that they are incredibly ugly.

Jesus Christ folks are paying a lot of money to cosplay as outdoorsy!

ah yes I always decide my vehicle purchases based on minor product issues that have been fixed for 5 years and window problems that appart from the original complaint can’t be recreated. I care about the battery and drive train, the rest is negligible.

I was initially enthusiastic about this vehicle, until I heard the price. These guys are skirting safety regs through vehicle weight classification to keep cost down and the fucking thing is still over $100k? With a body I could crank out on the sider’s sheet metal brake during my lunch break?

The Aviator/Explorer has been especially bad as far as new model rollouts go. The Ford store I work with has lost a ton of fleet orders because Ford keeps pushing back delivery dates to manage all of these quality issues.

I saw a brand new Lincoln Aviator on the road the other day, still with temp tags. Half the leds in the passenger side DRL were out. I informed the owner/driver at the next stop light. They said they were going to take it back to the dealer right then.

1st Gear: Personally I think they should focus on making a great product for the money, even if that means it will cost more. We don’t need more BEVs with compliance-car cheapness. We need more BEV options that are great.

That doesn’t absolve Ford of intentionally selling a fundamentally defective transmission to the public for years. People lost money on these things and expect to be compensated for it. Not only did they lose money on repairs, the value of the cars dropped more than it would have, partially because everyone, like you,

5th Gear: It crazy to me how many people have had issues with the DPS6 transmission when the solution is super simple...get rid of the car. I did and have never been happier.

I need the bed to haul my magnum condoms for my monster dong though!

“Cutting edge technology” this is not. They’re using standard industry manufacturing processes and describing them in unnecessary detail to make them seem special. Carmakers have a tendency to do this to give laypeople the impression that they are using some advanced new tech. Aston can’t even make their own
