Poor little car is sad. It’s been crying so much that it’s mascara is running.

I was disappointed to read Toonces the driving cat wasn’t the “without a human behind the wheel” part of this story.

NP all the way.

The one Dodge had for a while on the dash of the trucks almost made sense, since it completely freed up the space on the console and steering column. Then I remember the column shifter used on my Avalanche, 76 Laguna, and 64 Cadillac work perfectly fine without interfering with anything.

I still feel like these “new” shifters answer a question no one asked. For the most part, they still occupy the same basic real estate the conventional linkage based shifters did. The advantage is (supposedly) lower noise in the cabin, which I don’t think outweighs the disadvantages.

You know how sometimes you think you hear a wind noise so you try to roll up a window that is already rolled up? Well I had a 2011 Silverado and if you tried to roll up the driver’s side rear window after it was already up it would turn the cruise control off. For about 6 years I owned a 1965 Mooney M20C Ranger. They have a manually retractable landing gear. When down, a down/lock block holds the “Johnson bar” firmly in place - and a light comes on to indicate the gear is indeed in the down/lock position. Landing gear down is bar against the instrument panel, and landing

You mean like the PT Cruiser and Neon? Or the VW Golf and Audi TT? Or the Infinity G sedan and FX crossover?

I kind of assumed knowing how to drive and being able to think were base requirements for being a commenter at Jalopnik, but apparently I was wrong.

This is as bad as giving a kid a puppy for Christmas. I guarantee she isn’t ready for the BMW maintenance/repair world.

I’ll take it!

Mythbusters proved that worked.

Volkswagen/Audi Group’s engineers say hi...

I didn’t even know about those watches. I think I’ll add one to my Christmas list. Thanks for enlightening me.
