40 years sounds about right

Gate has been used for like 25 plus years prior to gamergate. To think that it was immediately gamergate is so self absorbed it’s not funny. That one is such a huge stretch it’s insulting. It’s used all the time and isn’t remotely taken from gamer-gate in any way.
