Try an anti-static mat on the desk and attach the cord to the PC. Just touch the mat before using the computer to discharge yourself. Another option is an antistatic strip same theory as the mat but smaller.

My Sony has an anti-tip strap on the back of the base. All you do is screw it to the table/stand it sits on and problem solved. Maybe this should be a standard feature in all new TV's.
