My first car at age 18 was a 1st gen Scirocco. I would’ve given my left nut for a Corradini when they came out. And one of my kidneys to pay for everything that broke.

Must’ve been from Norcal. ;-)

True enough. And, compared to other US cities, people are just more relaxed here. Being in traffic is simply part of the commute, so we are used to it, and those of us who enjoy cars get to spend more time in them. ;)

Great article to Fritter away my afternoon. Thanks!

Maybe this was really how most Camrys get their dent?

My indy VW mechanic whom I bought my Scirocco from had a beater project Rabbit. The thing was so disgusting, the coins in the ashtray were permanently stuck in some gooey food residue. The exterior was not much better. However, he dropped in a 944T (2.5 L, 217 hp I think). This was my courtesy car when my Sirocco

I had those seats in a loaded ‘90 E30. That was a Canadian car though, maybe that configuration didn’t make it to the States?

I was so glad to finally be rid of my E30, those electrical gremlins were just too frustrating. So bad that I’ve steered clear of BMWs ever since. Otherwise a pretty great car though.

Great, now I have to pee.

Rolling G-rated cockblock!

What kind of build quality issues are you having? I’ve had my FiST for over year and a half, with zero issues. No rattles or squeaks. I’ll take the fantastic plastic interior if it means me saving some money. Obviously a lot of plastic will carryover in the Yaris as well.

It is when you’re me, trying to get dates…

Trunk in one trunk, everything else in the other?

I’m late to the show but this one is worth writing down. We had a funk band in college, and instead of risking missing our out-of-town dates all together by taking our POS ‘84 Dodge van (“Wendy”) we would rent a new minivan. I remember returning a Ford Windstar (still a POS but at least a modern and somewhat more

Before my ST I had an ‘06 Speed3. Loved that car. So grateful that some manufacturers are still willing to insist on manuals for their top of the line offerings.

All the Ford ST/RSs?

Curiously, it’s these drivers who seem to want to race me at stoplights more than any other. I guess they see what they think is an econobox next to them, and think to themselves “finally, I can get some of my pent up frustration out!”

OK I’ll give you this

Geez millennials, does everything awful eventually have to become cool again?
