They still do in some models. My car for example, 2017 Jetta 1.4T is rated 28 city 40 highway. The automatic version is rated 28 city 38 highway.

It actually cost less than the automatic Jetta and is slightly more efficient than the automatic Jetta.

And it’s my daily commute car.
