maybe because he felt bad about dunking on Sullivan’s appearance

Mangold is explaining why the production costs were high, not why the box office receipts were low.

The drama around YA fiction authors seems to be absolutely fucking nuts.

I assume Germain does not have kids, as reducing the responsibility of parenting young children to ‘babysitting’ is a bit clueless. Maybe Brian is staying with the kids while Mia is doing irresponsible F&F shit so their child won’t be an orphan if it goes wrong.

In general, getting older sucks. My back hurts, I need bifocals, my mortgage rate is ruinous, etc. One of the few upsides to being an old is that I’m blissfully out-of-touch with various shithead streamer shenanigans. What little I know is what shows up in Kotaku headlines, and I swear they always sound like

All of which can be done well, but has been done for 50 years in the comics now.

That’s the ceiling. At level six, you can deliver four attacks without a spell slot. If you bumped Charisma a Sorc4 and every hit should land, that’s an epic 38 points of damage at a level where other casters are delivering less than a third of that. Even a pure sorcerer using a Quickened Fire Bolt is only averaging

That’s good, but the real killer is the sorcerer’s Quicken metamagic. Cast Eldritch blast with your action, use two sorcery points on Quicken and cast Eldritch Blast *again* as a bonus action. At level 17, you’re throwing around eight blasts a round for seven rounds without using a single spell slot.

Getting a bit salty over those nat 1s...

Chris O’Dowd? Meh, he was a dick to my wife at the Dublin Airport.

And I don’t even think you can buy the DLC yet.

The only series I’ve really enjoyed have been WandaVision, particularly the inventive retro television concept, and Loki, which had several characters I really enjoyed. The rest of the shows generally just felt to me like Marvel versions of the CW Arrowverse; not a lot of stakes, not a lot of spectacle, and

I wonder if Kevin Feige watches shows like this and actually thinks “this is good stuff!” or if he’s just phoning it in at this point. It’s hard to believe that the guy who engineered a decade’s worth of can’t-miss, smash hit films is signing off on this parade of blandly unremarkable MCU D+ series.

That’s Cincinnati; the state fair is in Columbus.

I was also a college student at the time, but I think I as in very different types of bars...

I’m not a purist about adaptations, particularly with often hard-to-film fantasy properties, but the absolute butchery of the Yennefer-Ciri relationship at the end of S2 really ended my enthusiasm for this show. If I hear that S3 wraps up with some epic conclusion, I’ll probably get around to watching it, but

I lol’d at the replies. Apparently the Witcher isn’t the only thing that’s getting significant viewership drop off partway through...

it is absolutely fucking insane to decide to be dismissive of the multitude of criticism about this show, and is frankly abhorrant writing, by just claiming that it is somehow apparently about some white guys not liking Philippa’s casting.

Just took 23 years to get him in that suit!
