The math doesn’t make sense because most people assume you run a company to make a profit. In these cases the success of the PE firm and the purchased company are not tied together in any way. The PE firm will make bad long term decisions to pull profit out in the short term.

I came here to make the same book recommendation. It’s an interesting read but certainly not a feel-good story.

Assuming infinite universes and infinite timelines is there one where MSU does not step in their own poop at every turn? I know infinity means every possible choice but holy hell MSU is stretching the odds.

My dad had quite a collection of these car promotional CDs. I remember each year Buick would send him a CD with a low quality driving game with the cars choices limited to a selection of new Buicks.

Every article that mentions fuel grades should come with a stock disclaimer.

That’s a poor word choice on my part. I meant it’s an alternative only with regards to the giant smoke cloud vaping produces. Juuling and vaping are the same thing.

My HS Freshman has talked about all her friends getting into to Juuling. It started as a middle school alternative to vaping and has completely taken over the school. She has friends who can’t make it through a class without at least one hit.

My E93 DS airbag has been available according to BMW for ~6 months. I still have not received mine. The explanation has been Christmas and snow.

Interesting article and well worth the read. Hard to enjoy with the giant add every two paragraphs. I understand the revenue advertising brings in and that I’m reading content for free but can the ads be moved back to the sides?

He mentioned being a dad - little kids don’t care it’s Saturday.

This article enforces three ideas for me:

For my state university on main campus it is mandatory to have room and board. At the same university’s branch campus the board is optional and you can just add $ to an account. Using the account gives you a % discount at the dinning hall.

I work at a major state university which my daughter attends. We’ve had several discussions about college costs and specifically how food factors into the equation. Bottom line, every aspect of college is significantly more expensive and food is certainly part of that. Dining plans run ~$8-12/meal.

This was almost the only thing my sister would eat for 5-10 years growing up so I’ve had almost every possible serving option. She of course would only eat it with butter.

The US already has a similar NCAP program. It is also voluntary and completely separate from certification testing.
