The motorcycle evap cert test is a pretty simple procedure that I would be shocked to see any manufacturer fail. There is no giant technology hurdle to get over. They know the fuel tank capacity, size the canister appropriately and don’t use 1950's quality fuel hoses and you are covered.

2012 BMW 3 Coupe - I’m tall but 6'2" isn’t extreme by any measure. I need the steering wheel tilted up and slid all the way forward to drive. It blocks most of the dash indicators and most annoyingly the button for the steering wheel heater. I can find it by touch but why put an amber light in the button no one can

That blackout badging will next appear in Cars 8 - the war years as the “fuhrer”

It was an ok game that I enjoyed. I don’t even remember running out of fuel on the bike but I’m sure it happened.

Glad to see FT being discussed again.  It’s been around almost 100 years now and every 10-15 years is trotted out as a “new” solution.

3rd Gear: Long haul highway tractors will transition to hydrogen rather than battery electric. It’s possible local distribution routes will dominated by BE platforms, a mix of fuels make sense in this model.

Thermal runaway is a real thing and there is nothing that can be done to stop it until it burns out.

Not directly related to the article but ~15 years ago I ran an test program for one of the bigger manufacturers of automotive tires. I analyzed the emissions impact of new tires. I collected evaporative emissions from new sets of tires and used a GC to identify the individual chemical species present.

I’ve been running electric vehicle range tests since the late 90's and am currently developing a real-world range evaluation benchmark test for the transit industry. A few random thoughts...

Off topic but I once sold an actual GM EV1 on GovDeals. I believe this was the only EV1 ever sold by GM rather than leased.

Ohio has no vehicle property tax. In Ohio you pay sales tax when the vehicle is purchased.

You know Australians use the C word all the time. Sounds like that teacher would be ok being called Ms. C*** each day in class.

Chipotle has always been willing to make you a quesadilla if you ordered it in person. The “excitement” was the price varied from order to order. Sometimes it was rung up like a full price burrito and other times it was $1. Every time it was only cheese in a flour folded in half and heated up.

I decided to vote by mail but after the discussions about delayed counting I decided to surrender my ballot (unopened) and vote in person this morning.

The midwest is a really big area so it’s hard to really generalize the food traditions. I’m from suburban Ohio so no supper clubs that I can remember. Most of the MW food comments about odd salads and ranch on everything just aren’t my experience.

Public safety note - stand the F back from the dyno!

They are hollow and don’t weigh much at all. I’m making an educated guess but this is probably a power dyno so it doesn’t have any motoring capabilities. It can add resistance/loading but not take it away. So the base inertia of the mechanical system has to remain low to simulate a wide range of vehicle masses.

Foot off the gas and let it roll down on its own.  That’s dyno driving 101 and I assume this is a shop employee driving the car so he should know better.

Dude will always work LAX bros be damned.

Growing up I was always told by dad to carry a handkerchief and pocket knife at all times. This started when I was 8 and has continued for 42 years and counting.
